When God wills it, HE makes a way

I asked...

Jeremiah 42:3 ''Pray that the Lord your God will tell us where we should go and what we should do''

This is precisely what my prayers have been focused on during the last few weeks.  What do I do next?  Where is God leading me?  I put a facebook blast out for just that, requesting that friends and family continue to pray for me for guidance in my next course of action from here.

I can't express the magnitude of my graciousness for being placed in the heart of Costa Rica for the time I have been gifted.  Before I even came here my prayer was to stay here for six months.  I trusted,  I asked the body of believers to help support me and God provided.  Even though I only raised a little less than half of what I needed I knew God was completely in control here.  Before I had even fund-raised I pre-purchased my tickets with the intent of staying for the full six months.  Well I am about to complete my 3 months here and return to the States. The original plan was to return to the States for Christmas and then come back to Costa Rica in January and complete the next 3 months here before returning for good to the United States in March of 2013.    Since I hadn't raised enough funds I intended on just forfeiting my ticket.  I knew that if God TRULY wanted me here for the full 6 months, the He would make a way, and that He would not be limited by my finances.  I knew that wherever God wanted me, He would make it happen.

He answered...

Matthew 7:7 ''Ask and it will be given to you, seek and you will find, knock and the door will be opened to you.''

Well... it just so happens that Thursday after school the school director, Hector, pulled me aside.  He told me he had a burden on his heart and he wanted me to share it with him.  He feels that my brother and me together as a team complement each other in ministry.  He also shared with me that he just does not have a peace about me leaving just yet and set before me a proposal.  Hector asked me, ''Amanda, what is holding you back from returning to Costa Rica besides the finances?''  My honest answer?  The finances.  He then told me that if I was willing to return to Costa Rica for the remaining 3 months that he would help take care of the tuition and that it was very valuable to him to have me continue to serve at the mission.

He paved the way...

After much thought, and some good conversations with my family and of course my boyfriend ;)  I have decided to accept this amazing gift!!!  Therefore, these are NOT my last few days in Costa Rica!!!  I am going to return again from January until March!!!  Deanna and Eduardo have agreed to allow me to live with them in a house right across from the school.  Having that access to the mission will make doing ministry a little easier for me as far as travels go.  It was a little difficult having to juggle the bus schedule with events at the mission.  I also like the fact that the house is located within the community surrounding the church... I think it will create a better opportunity for us to get to know our neighbors and a better opportunity to promote church growth and do outreach!!

GOD is SO good, and I knew that if He willed it... HE would make a way!!  AMEN

Philippians 4:19 ''And my God will meet all your needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus''

Costa Rica you continue to have my heart!
Jaden says he doesn't mind if Titi stays longer!

Please, come alongside me

2 Corinthians 9:7 "Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.''

If you are at all encouraged by God's hand at work here and find it in your heart to be apart of what God is doing here in Tuis de Turrialba, Costa Rica.  I would ask that you find it in your heart to also be generous in the same way the mission is being generous to me in keeping me here longer.

Hector did explained that they are willing to take care of the cost for the next three months out of their budget, which is a sacrifice for them,  but of course donations are always welcomed and accepted.   So if you still have it in your heart to continue to donate to my cause here in Costa Rica please do so.  You can donate on the website of the mission:

If you have the option of leaving a memo online, be sure to include my name. (Amanda Berrios)  If not, just notify me that you made a donation so I know to expect it.

Thank You

To all of my family and friends who have been praying for God to pave the way.  This is truly an answer to prayers and your support means the world to me, I love you and miss you so much!

This is not the end... its just the beginning !
